How and when will I receive my money?
The fastest, easiest and most secure way to pay you is through an electronic
transfer from our account to yours. There is no charge for this service and in
99% of cases we make the transfer whilst the collection driver is at your
collection address. You will receive an email from Bank of Scotland bank confirming that
payment has left our account and has been sent to your bank. If you would
prefer to receive a cheque from us you have the opportunity to tell us whilst
inputting your car details. Please note that if you do choose to receive a
cheque, you must ensure that you have a debit or credit card available on
collection just in case you have missed some damage when entering your car
details.
Why can't I have cash for my car?
It is simply not practical to carry large quantities of cash. From a security
aspect we would not expect our collection drivers to drive around with
thousands of pounds. We have also geared our business to operate quickly and
efficiently and cannot spend time withdrawing and depositing cash at the bank.
I cannot find my car on the website?
We buy almost all makes and models, however, there are some restrictions on age
and mileage, and also certain models. Whilst we constantly strive to increase
the range of cars within our portfolio, if your car is not on the website we
cannot buy it. Please do not choose the nearest thing to your car in an attempt
to obtain a price.
What happens if I miss a scratch or dent?
Our valuation is based on the accurate description that you will provide. When
you go to value your car, we have attached a vehicle appraisal form for you to
print off. We do encourage you to print this off and actually walk around your
car in daylight to appraise your car panel by panel.
If your online appraisal does not match our collection driver's appraisal, we
will reduce the purchase price accordingly. This will either be deducted from
the balance that we transfer into your bank account or if you have opted for a
cheque on collection we will ask you to pay via a credit or debit card. We will
be firm but fair.
I have outstanding finance against my car?
If you wish, we will settle the outstanding finance as part of the transaction.
Depending on the finance company and due to data protection, you may have
to obtain your settlement in writing on our behalf. If you wish to settle your
existing finance, we will need written confirmation of payment from your
finance company prior to collection. If you owe more on your finance than the
sale price of the car, you will need to pay us the balance prior to us
collecting your car.
I do not have a V5 registration document?
For us to buy your car, we do need your original V5 document. If you do not have
one you can obtain a new document by filling in form V62 which you can download
from DVLA or pick up from
any Post Office. The completed form and appropriate fee should be sent to DVLA,
Swansea, SA99 1AR. A new document will then be issued to you in about 3 - 4
weeks. Until you have this we cannot proceed with the transaction. You will be
required to revalue your car at this time
How do you calculate the price for my car?
Your price is calculated automatically when you submit your car details. We do
not take the input details and then attempt to pre-sell your car before making
you an offer, nor do we take advantage of you if you want to sell your car
quickly. In fact, quite the opposite. We actually want your car. For this
reason we have developed a website that will generate our best price for every
car, every time.
Prices are remarkably accurate and are guaranteed providing that you have been
honest when inputting the details and you make your car available
when we tell you that we are coming to collect it.
Why will you not buy an imported car?
The main reason that people import cars from new is to make a financial saving.
For this reason people who purchase a used car that was originally imported
also want to pay less than they would if buying a UK car. It is also true that
there are often differences in specification between imported and UK cars and
even if these are slight, they do detract from the value. These factors mean
that putting an accurate value on an imported car requires the intervention and
interpretation of an expert on a car-by-car basis. wewillbuyyourcar.com is a
completely automated service and as such we have chosen not to deal in imported
cars.
Is part-ex not a better option for me?
If you are looking for a new car, you may be considering a part-ex. When you
part-exchange your car at a dealership, the dealer takes into account the
amount of money he will make on your old car and your new car combined. Often
dealers will offer you what seems to be a "very good" part-ex price to persuade
you to buy an over-priced new car! The best way to negotiate at any dealership
is to have cash in your hand and be ready to bargain hard. Always consider the
overall cost of changing your car. Remember, we can even collect your car, for
free, from the dealership when you collect your new car - and you'll have the
money in the bank!
Will you charge to collect my car?
No. We will collect your car at your convenience free of charge, and we are the
only company to offer this service.
What happens if I recommend a friend?
We'd love you to spread the word about our unique service. After you've sold
your car to us we'll send you an email with a unique reference number for you
to forward to your friends and family. All they need to do is quote this number
when they sell their car to us and as a 'thank you' we'll send both you and
them £25 in Marks & Spencer vouchers.
I've been recommended by my friend - what do I
do?
If your friend has sold their car to us previously, they will have a unique
reference number which they need to give to you. Please quote this reference
when you sell your car to us. As a 'thank you' to you and your friend, we'll
send both of you £25 in Marks & Spencer vouchers.

can tell your friends and family to and earn more £25 Marks and Spencer
